Description: This is one of the very few hangouts along Chulia Street that serves food and drinks until the wee hours of the morning. Entertainment comes in the form of piped-in music and company of far-flung tourists and backpackers. The interiors are kept dim and furnishings functional i.e. small bar counter, several makeshift tables and red plastic chairs that spill out into the pedestrian walkway outside. Home-cooked Indian and Chinese dishes dominate, along with light snacks, light fried chicken wings and curry puffs. Beer is aplenty and there is a limited selection of table wine.

Description: The opaque exterior exudes the seediness of an amusement arcade where youths, barely out of their first decade and dressed up to the nines twitching nervously to Cantonese tunes on the sidelines. "Patrons have to be above 20 to enter" is blatantly ignored as a sea of lithe nymphs, bell bottoms and platform shoes gather during weekends. There's a pool table and football upstairs. Decor is minimalist, with aluminum foil pasted on the ceiling. You are better off ordering drinks, as you will never see any evidence of finger food.

Description: A little blue pub rumored to be the only pub in Penang to serve Irish stout. Do not let its size fool you, though. As you leave you cannot help but wonder, "Have I been here before?"
