Tambun Caves

The Tambun Cavesí main attraction is not any kind of exotic cave-dwelling creature or unusual stalactite and stalagmite formations, but is manmade! Yes, the walls of the caves bear 2,000-year-old paintings dating back to the Neolithic era depicting the life of early inhabitants of the peninsula. The paintings were discovered in 1959.

Outside the cave, the scenery is beautiful and the sunset is something you simply must experience from this vantage point. The caves are located along Jalan Tambun, which leads to Tanjung Rambutan, and are rather high up in the hills so you can get a good view of Ipoh City from up there.
